Your Two Lines

There’s a lot of talk about career uncertainty lately. The past few years combined with a challenging economy, Ai, climate change, (the list goes on), is impacting nearly every industry and every person in some way.

And though there’s no silver bullet to help you find clarity, there is a simple starting point. We call it, “Two Lines.” And they’re the two most important lines you’ll ever draw.

On the left side of the left line is where you are today. And on the right side of the right line is where you hope to be.

But see, you’ll never get from here to there if you’re not clear on where here is, and where there is. Start with present awareness — where are you? What do you know? What skills do you have? Where do you feel stuck?

And then future hope...

What do you want? What does it look like? Why do you want to be there? You won’t know everything you want or need next, but you know some of those pieces.

The magic comes when you decide to make a move. You take a leap. Working on a new project, taking time to dive into a new skill, creating space to deepen your team relationships — these are the experiences we help teams design. Experiences that help foster clarity, confidence, and move them forward. The idea is to put the person or team at the center of their learning, and the leap as a framework for practicing.

You’ll never get from here to there if you’re not clear on where here is, and where there is. Start by simply asking yourself: Where am I today? Where do I feel stuck? And where do I want to be next?
