Last week, Erin and I were in Miami for a conference – a gathering of Chief Learning Officers from around the country and a few dozen learning partners who support their work.

One lunch, I sat next to an attendee who’d stumbled into the workplace learning space (as so many of us do) and had just started a new position as the Senior Director of Enterprise Learning for a 10k-person CGP company. I asked her, “Why do you do this work?” Without hesitation, she responded with ingratiating enthusiasm: “To unlock people’s potential.”

What a way to spend a life.

I, too, am grateful I get to spend so much of my life doing the same. What about you? Where do you find gratitude in how you spend your time? Especially in places you never expected to spend it?

Another gratitude I (and the whole team) have is for a special human in the Ei community – Victor, our Founder and Chairman. Who, a few years ago, crafted words that invite us all to slow down, breathe, and connect with those around our table.
