Pre S: On March 16th, Ei is hosting a free open workshop on Empathetic Leadership alongside Creative Mornings. We hope you’ll join us. Register here. Full story below.
Nearly nine years ago, I stumbled upon an organization called Creative Mornings. At the time, they focused on hosting monthly creative talks on Friday mornings in dozens of cities around the world. They were (and still are) a force of community and conversation.
The Chicago chapter was full of energetic, young creatives. One day, our chapter’s organizer invited me to speak about my story and the founding of Experience Institute. That event was one of my favorites, and I became a friend and fan of the org.
Eventually, I started following the founder, Tina Roth Eisenberg. She’s a formidable leader who pursues her efforts with an inspiring mix of heart and focus. Thanks to an introduction from a friend in late 2021,Tina and I met in Brooklyn for a cup of coffee and a walk.
We talked about a million things, but especially about the intersection of learning and community. During the pandemic, Creative Mornings launched virtual “Field Trips” to help their community connect in short bursts to share lessons and ideas about all kinds of creative acts. People from around the world were facilitating sessions on a range of topics from calligraphy to career change.
Meanwhile, Experience Institute had been facilitating learning experiences for teams and organizations focused on core skills for launching and leading well. Aside from a budding friendship, Tina and I started dreaming of all the ways we might collaborate.
Today, I’m excited to share that we're launching our first Field Trip with Creative Mornings: Empathetic Leadership. It’ll be held on March 16, 2023 from 9:00am to 10:15am CST. The FieldTrip will offer an opportunity to practice three tools designed to help you lead with more empathy for yourself and your team, and I’m excited to be facilitating it alongside my longtime colleague and friend Aaron.
Hope to see you there!
