December 31, 2024
The ethos of Experience Institute has always been rooted in encouraging you to step outside your comfort zone in pursuit of growth. There is no one way to do so or a prescribed category a Leap needs to fit into. It's deeply personal. What feels uncomfortable to me might be your ordinary Tuesday.
At the beginning of 2024, I committed to taking a Leap every month. Looking back on my notes, I was an A+ student of Leaps for the first half of the year. I'd set a vision at the beginning of each month, embark on the journey, reflect, and even document with photos. Here I am learning to tap dance in February:
Then June arrived, and my meticulous planning and documentation evaporated.
My first reaction? Bummer. I hadn't kept up with my commitment. But as I reflected on the latter half of the year, I realized something important: I had had experiences that were undoubtedly Leaps; they just weren't carefully plotted or mapped.
Just Say Yes
We don't always need to intentionally plan a Leap. Sometimes, growth happens when an opportunity presents itself, and we simply say "yes." What matters most isn't whether an experience is planned or unexpected but the fact that we do it. And that we reflect on it.
So, planned or unplanned, what did you do last year that stretched your comfort zone?
Take some time to go for a walk or sink into your favorite chair and consider how your comfort zone expanded over 2024. There will be plenty of time to consider how you want to grow it in 2025. But that will be for another invitation. For now, celebrate a Leap Year well-leapt.
And as a nod to all those Leaps, we’re sharing our final 29th Gift: 29% off the whole store. Just use the code LEAP2024.
Happy 2025, all.
