Introducing AI Leaps! Learn AI by Doing AI

Introducing AI Leaps: Learn AI by Doing AI

I promise—this isn’t another “in a world that’s changing fast, you need AI” post. Or at least, it’s not only that. If your inbox and LinkedIn feed are like mine, they’re overflowing with AI products and “solutions” that claim to transform the way we work.

And yet, so many teams we meet are still stuck at the starting line. Not because they aren’t interested. But because they’re unsure: What’s safe to try? What’s actually useful? What are other people in our org even doing with AI?

We’ve been there too, asking ourselves—Where do we begin?

The truth is, no amount of reading, demos, or prompt libraries will make you fluent in AI.

If you’ve ever tried to learn a language, you know what I mean.

Over the past year, I’ve been taking French lessons at a small studio near my home in Los Angeles. I’ve diligently memorized my vocabulary words (thank you, flashcards!), practiced conjugating my verbs, and worked on—okay, struggled with—my pronunciation (you should hear me try to say “verte fleur”; I sound like I’m choking on gum).

But all that learning doesn’t hold a candle to what I’m doing right now as you read this—hopefully ordering a croissant, chatting with a cab driver, or asking for directions… in French! in France!

I’m learning French by doing French.

It’s uncomfortable. Imperfect. And it’s where the real learning happens.

That’s the spirit behind AI Leaps, our newest program at Experience Institute.

Learning AI through Experience

At Ei, we’ve spent more than a decade helping people grow their skills and take meaningful leaps in the workplace—to get outside their comfort zones, drop perfection, and start experimenting and building.

So as AI has become one of the most critical workplace skills in recent years, we realized the real hurdle isn’t technical knowledge—it’s implementation. The human behavior change part. The doing part. And learning by doing is what we do best.

Most teams don’t need another lecture or tool. They need a smart, safe on-ramp. A space to try, reflect, and build real habits around AI.

So we built one.

Enter: AI Leaps!

It’s a hands-on, cohort-based experience that helps your team move from hesitation to habit with AI.

How It Works

At its core, AI Leaps works like any of our other Leaps programs: participants take on a project that pushes them to grow while helping their team or organization move forward. In this case, every project is an AI Leap.

Over a few weeks, participants choose a real task or challenge from their day-to-day work. This is their “leap” into using AI in a different way. They test tools, explore the edges of what AI can (and can’t) do, share learnings, and build momentum—together.

One of the most powerful parts? Seeing what other people inside your company are doing.

So far, most AI experimentation has been happening solo—everyone trying to figure things out in isolation. In AI Leaps, that learning becomes visible. Through facilitated team touchpoints, participants get a front-row seat to how their peers are using AI in creative, practical, and sometimes surprising ways. That visibility helps spark new ideas, fast-track smart use cases, and build shared confidence across the org.

And as individuals take their leaps and reflect, the entire team begins to build a culture of learning and experimentation—not just around AI, but across everything they do.

What Makes AI Leaps Different

AI Leaps is about experimentation, not explanation.

It’s experiential. Reflective. Grounded in real work. And designed to help your people go from knowing about AI to actually using it in purposeful ways.

But, AI adoption isn’t the end goal—it’s the gateway.

Whether it’s shortening project timelines, improving relationships with customers, retaining top performers, or sparking new revenue ideas—every team has different priorities. So, as you consider AI Leaps, I’ll challenge you to think about not just building AI fluency for your team but what that unlocks for your business. In other words, what is your AI why?

Why Now?

AI isn’t a future skill anymore. It’s a right now skill.

But many teams are still waiting—for the perfect implementation strategy, the right tool, or the go-ahead from leadership. That delay comes at a cost.

In times of big change, there are always winners and losers. And from where I’m sitting, I see that the teams that will win this one won’t be the ones who know the most—they’ll be the ones who try, reflect, and iterate faster than the rest.

That’s what AI Leaps is built for—action, not theory.

What’s Next?

We’re inviting a small group of teams to join our early launch.

If your team is curious—even if you’re unsure—about how to harness AI in ways that help your company grow, adapt, and thrive, we can help you get there.

Connect with us on our AI Leaps program page, or just reach out directly. We’re happy to share more about what we're building and explore what might work best for your org.

Thanks for being part of this next leap with us.

À bientôt,

Sara
