President and co-founder of i.c.stars, an innovative nonprofit leadership and technology training program founded in 1999 to prepare inner-city adults for technology careers and community leadership. Her accomplishments include designing a comprehensive science and civics interactive program for GED students at Jobs for Youth, implementing a professional development program with Harold Washington College Career Center, developing experiential learning modules for over 70 schools and creating artist in residency programs as well as training artists to work in classrooms for arts organizations.
Orlando is the Chief Operating Officer of CityScan, an early-stage venture focused on outdoor market intelligence. Orlando was the Deputy Director of the Office of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Technology where he was responsible for $400M in infrastructure and small business economic incentive programs in Illinois. Over the last 10 years, Orlando has led several early stage companies with a combined exit valuation of $50M. Orlando was the Vice President of Marketing at Boingo Wireless, where he pioneered a successful wireless hotspot business model. Earlier he held several software engineering and product management roles at Motorola and AT&T Bell Laboratories.
Tom is principal of the law firm Stevens & Associates, a successor to the firm he founded in 1989. He is an English solicitor and an American attorney, admitted in Illinois, Washington, D.C., and New York. His focus is upon finance, mergers and acquisitions, entity structuring and governance, tax planning, international transactions, and best practices analyses. He serves on the Board of The Chicago Lean Startup Circle, regularly speaks on issues pertaining to startup companies, law, and entrepreneurial skills, and serves as the President of the British American Business Council.
Trent currently serves on the Board of Directors for companies such as Alianza Security Solutions, Kachyng, Coaloo and is a strategic Advisor for many global companies. For over 20 years, Trent has held senior executive positions with market leading companies like Parametric Technology, SAP, and has led leading international, privately held companies globally. Trent was the President of International Business at Parametric Technology and helped Parametric grow from a start-up company to becoming the 5th largest software company in the world, with revenues of over $1.3B. Over 65% of PTC’s revenue came from International markets.
