At Experience Institute, you will learn interdisciplinary skills that engage your mind, shape your values, and help you create meaningful tools alongside remarkable people.
The year is divided into trimesters that are comprised of MEETUPS and APPRENTICESHIPS. You will leave Experience Institute with a professional network, unique hands-on experiences, creative confidence, and a deep understanding of five core competencies:
Ei Meetups take place in Chicago, Illinois. Each day is a combination of interactive classes led by industry professionals, along with projects and experiences around the city.
During these Meetups, you will also connect with Ei companies to explore how you may fit as an apprentice over the course of the year.
Experience Institute has built a network of Ei companies offering paid and unpaid apprenticeships. These are full-time positions where you’ll be challenged to add value to a new team.
ESTABLISH YOUR CLASSROOMS
You’ll identify companies that you hope to learn from. Think of this as establishing your classes. We have remarkable companies offering paid and unpaid apprenticeships to our students. You can also reach out to any company of your choosing. You’ll be challenged to research the company and offer solutions for how you can add value to their team.
DOCUMENT EACH EXPERIENCE
With a community behind you and a cohort of students next to you, you’ll have an audience interested to hear and learn about what’s happening with you. Documentation will be a combination of video, photography, blog posts, newsletters and other creative outlets.
PRESENT YOUR WORK
After each experience, you'll be challenged to present your story using various mediums. At the end of the year, you'll create a final project embodies your year of experiences. Graduation will be a gathering of friends, family and future employers—this will be your time to shine and present your learnings.
Ei Coaches are hand-picked for their experience taking leaps of their own and for the manner they've pursued excellence in their industry. They spend time supporting a small cohort of Ei students throughout the year, helping them navigate and mine their experiences for meaningful learnings.
